The Boardwalk

The boardwalk is a promenade walk along the Northside of the River Liffey and was constructed as part of a millennium project to celebrate the Dublin Millennium and officially opened in 2000.

The boardwalk is constructed of timber decking on a steel structure with steel railings which overhangs the River Liffey walls on Lower Ormond Quay, Bachelor`s Walk, Inns Quay and the Custom House. Fitzsimons Consulting Engineers inspect the boardwalk every 6 months to recommend maintenance & repair works.
